School, the Foundation of Life – a Complex of Educational Buildings in Ostrava, Cerna louka

New school buildings are designed out of area of Black Meadow in Ostrava but with very close connection with the park. This plot is situated between the river Ostravica, Black Meadow and planned living area New Karolina. It´s orientation to the south and the proximity of nature it´s also very important for the school buildings. Elementary school, secondary school , gym and kindergarden are designed as one komplex connected with platform opened to the river.
Application of the Reading Comprehension Method in the Teaching of Selected Species of Amphibians at Lower Secondary Education

In my diploma thesis I apply the reading comprehension method in the biology and I focus on selected species of amphibians. Understanding the text is a prerequisite for learning from the text, and it is an important part of understanding the world. This is the reason why I use a multidisciplinary approach and I included reading comprehension methods in the teaching of amphibians in elementary school. In my diploma thesis, I made a research which I examine whether students with learning disabilities will be able to understand the text, or whether they will be more successful in a simpler text supplemented with pictures and graphs. Furthermore, I deal with whether teaching with the application of the reading comprehension method will increase students' interest in the discussed topic and whether these students will be more successful in verifying their knowledge than students who were taught using the frontal method. I have chosen methods to achieve the goals which are: a frontal teaching method, teaching with the application of developing reading comprehension, a test in the form of a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview with pupils. Leisure time and leisure activities of middle school age pupils in Slaný

This bachelor thesis deals with leisure time and leisure activities of middle school age pupils in Slaný. The thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and research. The theoretical part describes and defines the basic concepts related to the work, such as leisure, leisure education, leisure education facilities and characteristics of secondary school-age children. The last chapter is then devoted to a brief description and characteristics of leisure education in Slaný. The research part elaborates on a questionnaire survey conducted among sixth and seventh grade pupils of primary school in Slaný. The main objectives were to find out how pupils spend their free time, what leisure activities and clubs they prefer in their free time and whether or not there is satisfaction with the offer of leisure activities in Slaný. The results have been processed into tables and graphs and the data from the research reflect the current situation. A child diagnosed with ADHD at Secondary school

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe ADHD disorder, especially in children in the second grade of primary school. The thesis will include defining the concept of the actual causes and manifestations of ADHD disorder. Furthermore, in the theoretical part I will focus on the different health problems that are associated with the disorder. I will try to describe the coping of studying of individuals with ADHD and the elements that will help these pupils to study better. I will also focus on the assessment of pupils and subsequently home preparation. The practical part is devoted to semi-structured interviews of experienced teachers concerning individuals with ADHD and their integration into the peer group, i.e. the integration of the pupil with ADHD with the peer group and then the interaction of the pupil with ADHD in collaboration with the teacher.
Measurement of corrosion resistance of the material

Aim of the bachelor thesis is bringing the concept of corrosion closer to second grade pupils of elementary school. In the theoretical part of the work is summary of the concept of corrosion, types of corrosion and protection against corrosion. In the practical part is performed measurement of corrosion resistance of martensitic steel depending on temperature and time. The didactic part of the work consists of laboratory exercises, where the pupils try to measure the corrosion resistance of the material in different environments, and of worksheet, which is used to repetition and to complete of the concept corrosion.
Sex education at the 2nd stage primary school

This Bachelor thesis deals with a topic of sexual education and primarily focuses on implementation of it to lower secondary education. It consists of two parts. In the theoretical part is described a detailed definition of sexual education, a historical context to human's sexuality, a historical conception, and a current situation of sexual education in the Czech republic. The thesis outlines sexual education in the curriculum, motives, and methods to teach sexual education at schools, just as it poses principles, purposes, and conditions of sexual education. Furthermore, it describes activisation methods, topics, approaches to sexual education in the world and a strife between proponents and protestors of realising sexual education in schools, including preventing programs. The empirical part present teachers teaching sexual education at lower secondary school and their approaches to it.
Differences between the beginning and experienced teachers of Physical Education in a lesson preparation and motivation of students on the second stage of elementary schools and lower grades of high schools

Title: Differences between the beginning and experienced teachers of Physical Education in a lesson preparation and motivation of students on the second stage of elementary schools and lower grades of high schools. Aims: The main aim of diploma thesis is to compare and describe differences between beginning and experienced teachers of Physical Education in the Czech Republic in the field of lesson preparation and student motivation. We were interested if there are any significant discrepancies or similarities between selected concepts. Methods: Data of the practical part were assembled by the method of empirical quantitative research in a form of a self-made questionnaire in which took part the teachers of Physical Education who teach on the second stage of elementary schools and lower grades of high schools in the Czech Republic. A condition for filling in was the length of pedagogical practice under five years or upon twenty years. 25 % of elementary schools and 25 % of high schools from each region were randomly asked. In total, 772 schools were addressed, we gathered 271 answers from respondents. Acquired data were elaborated and evaluated in the MS Excel programme. Work with gifted children at a lower secondary school in Rakovník

The aim of the bachelor's thesis called Work with gifted children at a lower secondary school in Rakovník is to analyse national and school documents related to education of gifted and exceptionally gifted children at a lower secondary school in Rakovník. The analysis of the documents revealed that the school documents correspond to the recommendations of the national documents. At the same time, the partial aim of the work in the theoretical part is to describe and identify the gifted pupil, including recommendations for the selection and description of suitable teaching methods for working with the gifted child. Using a method of qualitative interview, field research among ten teachers in the empirical part found that teachers of the selected primary school can define the concept of a gifted student and believe that they can identify a gifted student. The educators also agreed that they thought that the selected school did not sufficiently support gifted students and that the gifted student did not have the opportunity to develop their abilities, skills and other talents to the maximum in the regular classroom. TITLE: The Comparison of Adjectives in Russian and English Languages AUTHOR: Marika Zemánková DEPARTMENT: Department of Russian studies and language teaching methodology SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Lenka Havelková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: This bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of adjectives in Russian and English languages. Theoretical part provides characteristics of this part of speech and highlights some differences between Russian and English. Language typology clarifies particularly features which are typical for synthetic and analytical languages. The second chapter is concerned with an overview of possible classifications of adjectives where these classifications are organized according to syntactical, morphological and semantic point of view. Practical part is devoted to the comparison itself. To attain clear arrangement, rules for the creation of comparative and superlative adjectival forms are described for each language separately. The main facts about comparison in both languages are then compared in the last chapter of the bachelor thesis.
